A spring holiday to the Gold Coast

In October, we were lucky enough to have some desperately needed family time together with a holiday to the Gold Coast.  Here we are setting out on the plane to Coolangatta.  And I have to say, we flew Virgin Blue and they were absolutely exceptional accommodating our needs for Jack - nothing was too much trouble which was terrific.
Jack quite enjoys going on the plane and Mummy and Daddy were excited about the holiday ahead!
First stop after settling in was Sea World.  Lucy loved it!

And the most exciting thing we were looking forward to doing there was for Jack to swim with the dolphins.  Here he is with 'Cyrus' the dolphin, which was an 'interesting' experience for him.  He wasn't overly enthusiastic about it but there could have been a number of reasons behind it and I think his cortical vision impairment certainly does not help.  There was a lot of apprehension but he eventually began to relax (a little anyway!) and we had a wonderful dolphin trainer who worked with him.  Cyrus was incredibly gentle too.  What amazing animals...
And there was more fun to be had....

And then there was the trip to Australia Zoo.  Lucy got to pat the Koala and Jack even got to feed an Elephant!!

And even enjoy high tea at Palazzo Versace ...

And of course a little bit of R & R ...

Now we have some seasoned travellers on our hands....

  1. Looks like you had tons of fun and hopefully relaxed a little to. We missed you at Disneyland, but we had so much fun and the kids were amazing so I am for sure ready to go again. So when you guys come over if you want to do Disney we will for sure go.
